WELCOME TO AVCAN
ALCOHOL ABUSE TREATMENT CENTER
WE HOPE IN THE NEAR FUTURE THEIR WILL BE NO DRUG ADDICTS
AFTERCARE
Once an individual has successfully achieved the ability to resist alcohol and is no longer drinking, they have achieved something worthy of praise.
METHODS OF TREATING
For anyone who has faced a loved one’s struggle with alcoholism or even their own, the question is often what they should do about it.
EVENTS
The Avondale chapter of Alcoholics Anonymous holds meetings five times a week, Monday through Friday. These meetings are held in the bottom floor of the Church of Firstborn building just off of the main street in downtown Avondale.
Alcoholic Anonymous Organization of Avondale, Texas
Our program focuses on the Twelve Step program developed by AA’s founders Bill Wilson and Bob Smith.
IMPACT OF THE ALCOHOL
Everyone that successfully participates in the AA program has to start by acknowledging that they are not in control of their own lives. They essentially admit to themselves the truth that they have often been avoiding for some time; that alcohol is in the driver’s seat and that they are just along for the ride.
ALCOHOL ABUSE TREATMENT
The AA program in no way discourages its members from working with a professional rehabilitation center. There are several centers that we recommend throughout the state of Texas.
ABOUT ALCOHOL POISONING
Alcohol poisoning is a potentially deadly result of drinking too much alcohol in too short a period of time. It can affect your breathing, body temperature, and heart rate. It can involve server vomiting and can lead to a coma or even death.
